liesl-liselotte:

Why you should all watch 30 Minutes or Less, according to Aziz Ansari and Jesse Eisenberg:

AZIZ: Please go see 30 Minutes or Less. I’m in the movie, he’s in the movie — if you see it, financially it will benefit us, and then we’ll get to do more films, and also it’s funny so it’s a win for everyone. Please.
JESSE: And uh, the first person to see the movie gets a free car.

Interviewer:
Can you talk about the takes on that particular scene? [referencing the laptop-smashing 'break up scene']
Jesse:
I remember there were a lot of takes on Andrew's side-
(audience and cast members start laughing, while Andrew playfully punches Jesse's arm)
Jesse:
(flustered, begins to back-track) no no no please no I was actually shocked that he was able to sustain this intensity because David Fincher likes to shoot a lot of takes and he was driving the scene-but what I was going to say was that I never ever seen-and I've been in seven movies- seen in film an actor maintain that focus and intensity and emotional bredth the way Andrew did that day. It was shocking, and it was intimidating, and it was inspiring, and made for an uncomfortable car ride home together because he stirred me so, so deeply (audience awws)... It was exhilirating to experience, and frightening, frankly.
(audience and cast members cheer)
Andrew (clearly embarrassed, with his head down):
I'm not as eloquent as Jesse, sorry... I don't know... yeah, I think he's great.

The first thing I identify with myself is not my religion. Like, the first movie I did, is called Roger Dodger, the director kept telling me, “Please act more like Woody Harrelson, not Woody Allen.” I think there was a hidden comment there but I don’t know what it was. I told them I wanted to play the part in Zombieland with peyos ‘cause I thought I wasn’t doing anything interesting with the character and everybody else in the movie was so interesting.

Interviewer:
It was kind of shocking to hear Jesse Eisenberg doing Aaron Sorkin’s dialogue, because you suddenly realize this is what he was born to do.
David Fincher:
We looked and looked and looked. We read every young actor in Hollywood. And it had been rumored on blogs and stuff that we were talking to Jesse Eisenberg. And you know, I hate to be told what to do by blogs, so I was like, "Yeah, we should probably see him but I don’t know if this is his thing … " And he put himself on tape reading the first scene, and I remember getting this thing on my computer and opening this little QuickTime, and here’s this kid doing Sorkin: the first person that we’d heard who could do Sorkin better than Sorkin.
